Anointing for Missionaries on the Field (Prayer Day 19)

Bible Readings: Mk16:15-18; Rm 1:16,17

Chorus: Send down revival Lord, let it begin within my soul, Holy Ghost revival, the Pentecost revival.

Today, the world at large needs the gospel message because of the sinful and deprived nature. In order for our people and community to be born again, they must hear the gospel of Christ. Every Christian is expected to shine forth as light in this wicked world, living a godly life. But in addition, we must always be willing to share the gospel with others by our words, prayers and persuasion until Christ is formed in them.  Necessity is laid upon all believers to share the good news of salvation.  Some of us will have to embark on missions, leaving our comfort zone, to reach the perishing souls in difficult terrain where it is dangerous to preach or where the Gospel has not yet been preached.  This is a task that must be done.

Continuous Flow of Oil (Prayer Day 18)

TEXT:  II Kings 4:1-6.

Continuity means, unbroken and consistent existence or operation of something over time. God is expecting the fresh oil, He is pouring upon us this year 2019 to flow continuously throughout our life time. God is not always happy seeing His children breaking the chain of the flow of His power and grace upon their lives. That was why He told Abraham to walk before Him and be perfect – Gen 17:1.

Our text today, is a familiar story of a wife of the prophet that died and the creditor came to take his children for slavery. The man of God told her to borrow plenty pots and shut her door against her and her sons, and poured the oil into the pots one after the other and she obeyed. As she poured the oil into each pot, the oil continued flowing until her son told her that there was no more pot and the “flow stopped”.
